I find inspiration from many things and this is reflected in my art. People, landscapes, still-life, interiors - these are just some of my subjects. The goal is the same for all of them - to find beauty in the ordinary. I am just as likely to choose a rusty gate as I am a graceful swan as a starting point for a piece of work. If it elicits an emotional and visual response from me, that is enough to begin with.
Recently, I have been focusing on the area around Brentford docks, near my studio. Brentford, like many areas of London, is in a state of flux. I react to the tension between old and new, history and progress and man versus nature as buildings are demolished and areas are cleared to make room for new projects.
